Overview

Overview

The MBA in Financial Management trains managers to read accounts, value investments and control the money that runs an organisation. It goes deep in four directions: market finance, corporate finance, banking and insurance. You learn to explain how financial systems fit together at national and international level, and how that environment shapes the decisions companies, boards and public authorities take.

It is read through a West African lens: the UEMOA monetary union, the franc CFA, OHADA accounting rules and the BRVM, so the theory meets the way money actually moves in the region. On the practical side you build financial packages through financial engineering, manage risk inside a financial institution, and follow how listed securities are priced and traded.

Entry requirements

Taught in English and French, for graduates with a first degree.

Teaching moves between English and French, so you will need to follow classes in both. The university runs a language laboratory, and students work up from an initial placement test to specialist English. If you are unsure about either language, talk to admissions before you apply.

Academic requirements

Four-year bachelor’s degree

Minimum GPA 3.00

One year of work experience

Two letters of recommendation

Transcripts and degree certificate

One reference should come from your studies and one from an employer, on company letterhead. If your degree was taught in a language other than English, send a certificate of language proficiency and sit the entry test. Credits from another recognised business school can be transferred if you earned them in the last five years.
